10 Fun Things to do with an RC Car

Having an RC car is a lot of fun. There are a lot of things that can be done with it, too, to make it even more entertaining. While many people like to stick with the classic races, others prefer to really get involved with their RC car hobbies. Here are the top ten things veteran hobbyists like to do with their RC cars, just for the fun of it. #1 – Build a ramp. Ramp jumps are the most fun for RC enthusiasts, because RC cars can do things that would...

Beginners Guide to RC Helicopters

Ok, I know this is an RC Car Blog, but a lot of folks who are into RC cars are also interested in learning more about helicopters.  Since I have some experience in both, I thought I’d write a getting started guide. Being new to a fun and exciting hobby like RC Helicopters is…well…fun and exciting! But there are some things that the seasoned pros wished they knew when they were just starting. Things that would have made the first flights more entertaining and time-saving – if they’d only knew. Below are...

JConcepts Manta body

Get ready, JConcepts is on a roll with this fierce new Manta body. Upon first glance, it is easy to visualize this new body gliding around on the Hyper SC or Jammin SCRT-10. Scale meets performance with the new JConcepts Manta body, inspired from the ground up as a competition addict to turn short course trucks into high performance machines. MBX5T With No Engine

Two years ago I picked up this Mugen Seiki MBX5T Prospec kit and finished building it to the point where I needed to install an engine. Unfortunately, the engine mount that came with the kit did not fit the Axial engine I bought so I had to put the build on hold to find a proper engine mount or to modify the engine mount that came with the kit. After a couple of weeks of looking around for an engine mount kit that would fit, I realized (1) I needed...

It’s Alive!

It’s been a while since I had a chance to update the site. Sorry about that. I’ve had a few people asking how the project alluded in the last post was coming.  Here’s a peak of it’s progress: More to come.

Big Ass Wheels

The wheels are turning, proverbially and literally.  The “Unbreakable” Savage Build continues.  The wheels are installed and can be seen in the picture below. There’ll be a few changes from the plans on the project page, the most obvious being that I won’t be able to install the HPI 17mm Hex Hub conversion set as planned as I’d have to install smaller (and therefore more easily broken) dogbones to accommodate them.  We’re  looking for a 17mm hex adapter similar to what Traxxas offers for their Revo and Maxx trucks.  Unfortunately...
